Let’s Take It a Little Easy

For the last several months I’ve written a post a day through the week nearly every weekday. I enjoy writing about what I see in the city and I know from the e-mails and comments that many of you appreciate what I do – and that’s what makes it worthwhile. That said, I’m going to take it down a few notches for the coming weeks.

The city seems to have slowed a bit under the summer heat and, honestly, I’m a bit tired. Two to four hours generally go into each post and that, for most of the year, comes at the end of a work day. My family has also required a large amount of attention in recent months and I’ve often blogged about Knoxville while sitting in my parent’s home in Mobile, so it’s often been very difficult to keep up the pace.

I hope each of you have a great July 4 holiday. I’ll be back after that, it will just be at a little slower pace for a while. Try not to sweat too much in the meantime and be careful with those fireworks.

  1. I totally hear you, Urban Guy. I have been amazed at your pace. There is no way I could do what you do on a daily basis. I know how time consuming your blog is, with all the photos, research, etc. I post on my blog, The Blue Streak, about twice a week. Once in a while, three times. It is much better for you to slow down than burn out. We appreciate you. Have a good holiday yourself.

Enjoy the 4th and the summer, UrbanDude.

  3. Urban Guy, I stand in awe at the volume of work that you have produced. I am lucky to get one blog post completed per month. I look forward to each update and I appreciate the effort that you expend on this blog. You deserve a little time off. I agree with CMMOXLEY, its better for you to slow down rather than burn out (but isn’t that completely opposite of what Def Leppard said?).

I never did like Def Leppard so much, anyway. :-) As for your pace. I’d only get out one a year or so if I did the kind of excellent research you do. Apples and Oranges – you do great work.

  5. Your blog welcomed me to a new city like an old friend. I am still amazed at your pace. I look forward to seeing you downtown and enjoying your new slower pace.
